
Shum Lo was born in 1925 in Kaifeng, Henan. He joined Shaw Brothers and became various directors' favorite actor, especially in the martial arts genre. He had a filmography of over 100 titles spanning from the 1960s to 1980s, half of them martial arts films. A veteran supporting actor, Shum Lo is best summarized as "the essential green leaf behind the blossoming flowers".
